"Count it all joy"...

We made it through court last Thursday and everything worked out just as God had intended.   When you're dealing with a blended family like ours, there's bound to be some give and take. We've been blessed to have gone these six years without much problem.  God protects our little ones.  I have to believe that He's still doing that.  They now have a visitation schedule with their mother.  I pray this will be good for her and also for our two youngest.  Thank you everyone for your prayers.  God answered them.

Hi Dearie,

I don't know your situation, but I do know that my stepson didn't see his mom except literally 2 days a year for a long time....this summer he is spending 4 weeks with her at 16....but in general, from being an observing teacher for years, children do do better knowing their whole group, even when the mom or dad is not the best choice, the things that happen without their inclusion are hard to overcome, and children DO know what's real and not real early in life, they will know you two are truly who are stable and love them and there is no harm in more people loving them too and them loving them......I am sorry you had to go to court, we had to also 4 years ago...and were awarded custody when they were trying to take away....but I also think at that time I realized that this woman needed to know her children as well, even though she had walked out on them long ago, they needed her too....so now I work through loving her as well and trying so very hard to knock down the barriers that she put up even though I came 10 years after she left. You are in my prayers!
