Houston

It's not the city I'm writing about, it's the puppy.  Houston is a 10 week old puppy of dubious origin.  He has a warm and cuddly personality, and seems to understand what's expected of him, though he's not always up to doing the right thing.  I hope to teach him to get along with our chickens, ducks and turkeys, but so far he can't seem to resist the urge to make them fly.  Anyone have any pointers?
Puppies are so sweet, aren't they?

I haven't had a puppy in ages! But this is what I do with the rescued adult dogs I have - I would walk them out on a leash with the poultry and every time they would make a lunge, I would say no - very firmly (read: loud) and give them a tug on the leash. While I wouldn't ever leave them unattended with any of the farm animals, I can leave them off the leash and they leave everyone alone. Houston is a very cute puppy!

Hi Odie,

I noticed that you had posted a comment at my blog. I JUST ABSOLUTELY LOVE the idea of printing out the blog and putting it in book form. How did you do this? Because I want to do it for sure.

Mighty cute puppy! Hope it all works out well. I have never quite had the nerve to take in a rescue dog. But, I think about it now and then.. :)525
