Cooling Off With Chicken Broth

I thought the title might catch someone's attention.  We have a heat advisory here in northern Minnesota.  In the 90s for the next three days-okay only 88 on Tuesday.  Not our typical weather.

My poor Angora bunnies are hot.  I sheared three of them, but the rest still have some pretty heavy duty coats.  I should have put some containers of water in the freezer last night to place in their cages.  I checked the freezer to see what I did have that might cool them off and I found some jars of chicken broth.  So they did get to cool off with chicken broth.

Such a crazy time of summer for us to get these temperatures, huh? Unusual for us to get this hot anyway . . . our body thermostats are not calibrated to handle temps in the 90s. Forty BELOW we can almost handle easier!

Very hot and humid here in Indiana, YUKKO! They are calling for a high of 95 with high humidity, so thankful for air conditioning.

Hope your bunnies enjoyed chilling with the chicken broth :)

Mama Pea-
We had quite the downpour this morning. Temps have dropped and humidity too. Fall is arriving on Sunday, or so rumor has it.

Bean-
Are they calling for cooler temps in your area this coming week, too? I hope so for your sake. Wish we could can this heat and open it sometime in December.

Today we cooled off. The high humidity is gone as of this morning, and we are at a comfortable eighty degrees. The AC is shut off, the windows are open and I am canning tomatoes, 28 quarts today!! Even though the canned tomatoes won't heat it up in December, their aroma when I open a jar in the middle of winter will take my mind straight back to summer :)
