Luna-See?
(internet picture)
He's about four inches long, and an inch and a half across. So far the cat's not missing. :) He's a luna moth caterpillar.
We took him in, set him in a jar and placed one of my long stemmed roses in there. He climbed to the top, snuggled under the petals and built his cocoon.
Slightly out of focus, but you can see the white fuzzy stuff on the underside. He could be a moth in two weeks, but, because we live up north and the days are getting shorter, we might not see him until next spring. And he'll look like this--
(internet picture)
Unless he's a she and then she'll look like this--
:)
Let you know how this lunacy ends up.

oh hahaha Rhonda ~~you got me cause I looked and looked and looked trying to figure the difference. All our children competed in rodeo the older boys were in the Calgary Stampede a number of times and Also went to the worlds finals in Rapid City a few times. They were doing Wild Horse racing back then. the youngest girl was a steer rider. She is a momy now. The oldest daughter works so much she has no time for practice she was a barrel racer, pole bender, goat tyer even High School Rodeo Queen back in the day. Now some of the boys rodeo and now some of the older grandchildren. Anyways love your "lame" attempt at humour Icracked right up when I read that.
