Tennessee in a Whirlwind

Our daughter has found a college she likes...unfortunately it's 1200 miles away in Tennessee.  We took a trip down there last week to take a look.  The campus is beautiful, the weather is mild, the university is Christ centered, and they have a good pre-med program, which is what she wants.  Plus--she gets a full scholarship.  What's not to like?  Oh yeah, she's 1200 miles away!

Still it was a nice trip, and I may be making it more often....
We made it down and back in five days, which is why I call it a whirlwind.
This is our girl in front of the science building.

A picture of the Eternal Flame..(which had just been relit :)  )

Anyone know what kind of tree this is?  We don't have it up here.

A picture from up in the mountains.  It was cloudy and gray, but still beautiful.
It's good to be home...

What college is she looking at? I know what you mean about distance. Our son is 2,000 miles away from us.

Have a great day. The tree is beautiful.

It is good that your daughter has found a college that she likes although I know you wish it was closer. My daughter lived that far away from me for awhile and it was very difficult to say the least.
My husband was born and raised in Tennessee. He graduatuated from the University of Tennessee. It is a beautiful state. If you ever get a chance to visit Cades Cove please do it. It is wonderful there.
I pray that God will lead you and your family as to the perfect situation for your daughter.
Many blessings to you and yours,
Cammy

Cheryl, She's thinking of going to Lee University. It's a Christ centered college. Trying to figure out what God wants.
Cammy-The world just seems a more frightening place lately, but if it's what God wants for her, it will be great.

Looks like beautiful territory around there. And a FULL scholarship to follow her dream? Wow, and congratulations to her. Yes, it is scary out there these days, but think how much more uncomfortable you would feel if she wanted or needed to go overseas for her education. She'll still be within driving distance of home and family.
