Canning Leftovers
I now have turkey, ham, sloppy joe, chili, and turkey and rice soup added to all the jars in the cellar. Heading down there is like going to the grocery store. It's like playing store when I was a little girl, only now I can use real food. (I'm grown up now.) I feel so blessed, and just a bit giddy.
Doesn't take much.
Be blessed.

I agree with you . . . it is a giddy feeling! I often wish I would take the time to tally up the dollars worth of bounty I "shop" for in my own house. Sure we've put a lot of our time (blood, sweat and tears, too!) into "making" all that food but this time of year you do feel like you're getting it "for free!"

Ohh, I love to do this and often cook extra for this pupose. It seems we are busy in the winter with indoor projects and these meals are perfect time savers!

I would have never thought to can leftovers. I sometimes vacuum seal them for later. Usually, I don't make more than for an extra meal and just use it a day or two later. I will definitely keep it in mind. :)Foxy Lady

Mama Pea-It's so much healthier, too. I'm still learning how to cook for two and I always make too much.
Katidids-Sure makes meals easy peasy.
FoxyLady-My honey has an aversion to leftovers. When I can them, he has no proof that they are leftovers. :) Sly, eh? - January 21, 2013 at 8:37 AM
