Updates

Rhubarb-Believe it or not, the rhubarb I planted a few weeks ago is not only alive, but has new growth. ( See http://glory-farm.blogspot.com/2011/05/rhubarbing.html )  Perhaps I've found a place that it likes.

Garlic Scape Pickles-I opened the first jar today.  They are great!! http://glory-farm.blogspot.com/2011/07/garlic-scapes.html Highly recommended.  I think these are going to be an annual thing.

We're getting beets and potatoes from the garden, but not much for peas or beans.  It's a weird year.  My corn is going to be done before my beans.

We're still making hay.  We've been blessed with three additional fields this year because everyone has more than enough hay, even us!

Chickens are still hatching out chicks.  We have two hens still broody and one duck.  These chicks won't be big enough to butcher this fall, may have to wait until a warm day in December??? Brrrr...

That's about it from the farm.  I'm really not in the mood to blog and it shows.
Blessings.

You say you're not in the mood to blog but it's still nice to hear snippets of what you've been up to.

At least you know hay in your area won't be sky-high in price as it has been elsewhere the last few years! Good news!

Hey,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to check on me.
Not long after the tornado, my daughter, who has a 9 month old baby boy,(my first grandson):) found out she is pregnant again. She is now 4 months along. She was nursing around the clock when she got pregnant. They live with us as they were living at our farmhouse until the tornado leveled it. She has been so very, very sick with morning sickness 24/7 that is just now letting up. She has also suffered with migraines. I have spent alot of time with the baby, gardening and animals. We had to bring all the animals from the farm. :) Two of them were two old and faithful canine companions. They are 14 years old. So they require a little extra tlc. They were at the farm during the tornado so they were traumatized as well. Every time it thunders we have to crate them. It thunders alot in the late southern summers :) I am so happy to have them here though. God was so kind to spare their lives. I have a 13 year old cat that we brought here after the tornado as well. My 11 year old cat was killed. Rest in Peace Mimiseeku.

I have taken to spending several hours with God in the mornings also. Its like I told my daughter "I spend alot of time in my prayer spot because I am a tough case" . Seriously, I enjoy my time with God so much and those hours spent are valuable as God is changing my heart so much.
My son in law lost his job a couple of days after they found out they were expecting the baby. He has put in countless applications but has not found work. He has two good prospects right now. Please pray.

I am also trying to finish my degree by the end of December. I do not plan to go back to work outside the home but I feel that God wants me finish it.

I guess I am a little long winded with my answer but I wanted to catch you up a bit.
Thanks so much again for caring. I hope to be blogging again soon.

Love and blessings to you
