Have you been over to Mama Pea's blog? She's been making some beautiful rugs. I like making rugs though mine never look as nice, or lay as flat as hers. I took a class on weaving last October and fell in love with the rigid heddle loom. This loom is much easier to warp and set up than the standard table loom that I never used and finally gave away.
This is the one that I gave away-
I also have a sweater to finish. I've lost my enthusiasm for making it, but I know it has to get done. It's made out of alpaca that I sheared, dyed and spun. I like the look, but I'd rather be making rugs, now.
January is a great time for these projects. Christmas behind us and taxes ahead of us. January is time for a break.

Winter has finally arrived here, too, but not as cold as you have it! Usually we keep only the wood stove in the kitchen/main part of the house perking away, but lately the one in the living room has been much appreciated, too.
Your woven rug is LOVELY. Weaving is something that has always intrigued me . . . but not to the extent of actually getting a loom! I do envy your weaving talent.
Oh, yeah, you must finish that special sweater because you've truly made it from "scratch!" The color of the yarn is gorgeous. Now go get busy on it! ;o}

I like watching your WIP. The yarn for the shawl looks wonderful and it should be very warm.
Mama Pea- We have warm weather again until next Saturday, but it's been snowing steady, light but steady.
Are you opening those seed catalogs yet?
Haven't actually spread out all the new seed catalogs to go through yet (it's on my list!), but I sure am accumulating a BIG pile of them on the corner of my desk!
